What is a county card?

A County Card is a pass which allows its holder to visit any one of (at present) near 600 clubs once each year for a reduced green fee.

That green fee can be 50% or less of the normal green fees charged by the club the golfer is visiting.

County cards are only available to members of clubs which affiliated to the Scheme. In some Counties all clubs are automatically affiliated to the Scheme. In other Counties, clubs must affiliate. The clubs shown on this web site are all affiliated.

Most clubs offer the County Card Scheme for weekdays only - some may have a weekend fee.

You obtain a card from your County Union, your club, or via the County union web site.
The card cost will be between £10-15 for each year (nominally 1st April -30th March the following year), a fee you will almost certainly recoup on your first visit to another club. All the fee goes to the County Union to support its activities - Championships, teams and notably the development of Junior Golf

Each club in the scheme provides a telephone number that County Card holders MUST use to pre-book their visit.

You MUST have your Card with you when you visit the club and present it so that it can be signed to validate your visit.

The Card is for an individual only and is non-transferable. The scheme is open to both men and ladies and juniors (see conditions).

Nominally, you can only play one round at a club each year. Some clubs will allow you to play more than one round on a day's visit and some may allow more than one visit. They will tell you of this option when you ring before your visit - which you must do.

You cannot use the card when you are part of a visiting society, a team or an organised group unless the club gives you its express permission..
